Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas from the Heyers! I know, a couple days late. I don't have Christmas morning pictures loaded yet, but wanted to at least post a picture of the boys. They are getting so big and are now (as of a couple days ago) 9 months old! Future post with stats and milestones to follow. Have a Happy New Year!

Santa & Twin Friends

The boys visiting Santa for the first time (notice no crying, but some clutching of brother)
Wearing beautiful sweaters handmade by Auntie Tiffany
Weston: "Santa, GOOD is a relative term......."

Carson: "All I want for Christmas is my own diamond necklace that I can grab whenever I want."

Marissa, Taylor, Carson, Weston

C, M, W, T (we are now professional cat herders)

Poor Marissa got clutched by both boys, I think she might defer the "middle" spot to sister next time

As it is getting closer to Christmas, we decided it was finally time to take Carson and Weston to see Santa. We had no idea how they would react, and especially since it was approaching nap time, we were ready for some crying. The boys did awesome! They just looked at Santa and busy hands Carson didn't even pull his beard. It was fun to be able to take our own pictures so that we had several to choose from. Also yesterday we had our friends Garrett and Mandy and their twin daughters Taylor and Marissa over for spaghetti. Taylor and Marissa were born 8 days before the boys and Mandy went on my wine tasting trip with me. It was great to see the girls who have grown a ton since we last saw them! They girls were wearing really shinny shirts and both boys (at different times) lunged at one of their friends and grabbed the shinny part of her shirt. The kids did pretty good during dinner and we were able to get in a little adult conversation. It is one of those things that it is better to get together this way than not at all. We did love to think about the time when all the kids will run around in the backyard together and we might get like 10 minutes to talk.

As you can see the boys love to stand! They do really well on their own and I can leave them there for a small amount of time without me holding on to them. They haven't mastered pulling themselves back up yet, but you can see the wheels turning when they fall down. I was in the kitchen and I hear a thud followed by some laughter. Poor Carson had fallen and Weston was laughing at him. Their favorite things to eat these days are bananas with their oatmeal and avocado mixed with anything expect peas. Weston is not a huge pea fan.

Almost 7 Months

C&W loving the nice fall weather
Weston
Carson

Carson & Weston will be 8 months next week! I have been meaning to do a "milestone" month post for quite some time. Didn't do it at 6 months, didn't at 7, so trying to make it up for their 8 months. The boys get more fun every day. They now sit up very well on their own and are working on crawling. They both get up on their hands on knees and then rock back and forth. And so far we haven't seen any real "crawling," but somehow they seem to move from one side of the room to the other in the blink of an eye. They stick everything they can in their mouths and love playing with their toys. We now have them separated into three separate bins that we rotate throughout the day. The also think it is pretty fun to get in their toy box with the help of Daddy. We now own two jumping apparatuses, one jumperoo and a Johnny Jump Up. Sometimes they have "jumping wars." The boys now eat solids three times a day, oatmeal in the morning, normally avocados or squash for lunch and dinner. They also sometimes get a mum mum after dinner to snack on. Carson likes to throw it off of his tray, while Weston devours his and sometimes eats brother's also. We are truly blessed to have such happy, health boys!

Cute Little Guys

I was uploading pictures to my computer tonight and just couldn't believe how good a couple of these things turned out. For some reason Billy thought it would be really funny to put Weston in his toy box. The poor little guy just ate it up and played with his toy. And he had to wear shoes today because he loves to pull off his socks and eat them. And the boys are very into avocados right now and tonight's feast was avocados mixed with peas. Carson got a little messier than normal. Luckily it was also bath night. Enjoy!

My Little Cowboys

Carson and Weston were given these super cute shirts, belts and boots by my mom after she visited San Antonio right before the boys arrived. The boots are a little big still, but we couldn't resist taking some pictures of these cute little guys. We are still trying to figure out our new camera, I am actually signed up for a photography class that is being taught by the same photographer that did my maternity photos and the boys newborn photos. So some of the pictures don't have the best lighting. But we look forward to learn more in order to take even better pictures of our little guys. I mean, after all, we are very lucky to have such cute subjects!

This past Saturday we attended See Spot Walk, a walk in downtown Boise for dogs and their people to benefit the Humane Society. We did this walk the first two years we had Jasper, but then were in Hawaii last year during the walk. This year we were determined to make it. No crying kids were going to hold us back (and they almost did). As Carson starting fussing as Billy put him in the stroller, he nicely explained to him that we were doing this walk for Doodle. And Doodle does a lot of things for him and that he needed to be supportive. The boys loved seeing all of the people and dogs and especially showing off their new Vandal outfits. At the walk Jasper was able to see both his mom Ellie and his dad Bruno. We got to see our good friends Jeff and Debb and do the walk with them. Still loving the new BOB stroller!

This video was taken by Carson & Weston's nanny Morgan. It is pretty cute. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Buttons the Cat McLickerson

So Weston loves to lick. It is crazy, but this kid licks everything! You would think that he would put his lovie in his month, but no to drench it he just sits there and licks it. It amazing how wet he can get things. Whenever I pick him up he so very gently licks my shoulder. And he puts his thumb to his mouth like he might be sucking it, nope, just moving it around in his mouth with his tongue. This kid is too funny! So because of this we starting sometimes calling him Buttons. I thought Buttons the Cat was pretty appropriate. Here he is in his sleepy wrap, doing what he does best, licking it.

Saturday Morning Photo Shoot

This is what Billy did this morning while I was sleeping in. There is never a dull moment in the Heyer household with Billy and his little sidekicks! Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

Carson Mc Grabber Hands

Carson loves to touch people's faces! Hope you enjoy the pictures of Carson getting poor Weston. Don't worry, we don't let him grab his face and normally have to keep them separate. Carson also loves to grab our faces. The other morning Carson woke up and Weston was still sleeping. So we brought Carson into our bed to snuggle in between us for a couple minutes. He thought that was the coolest thing ever and he looked towards Billy, grabbed his face, then he looked toward me, and grabbed my face. This went on several more minutes. He just looked so happy, it was pretty cute.

Introducing Addie, Super Cousin

About a month ago Billy's brother and family came to stay with us before they headed up to McCall. During that time we got to hang out with our nieces Ava and Addie who are 6 and 3 and nephew Cole who is 3 weeks older than the boys. One evening as Ava left early for McCall I got to spend some quality time with Addie. She just LOVED hanging out with the boys and playing with them and loving on them. I told her that Weston and Carson really liked it when she talked to them and sang to them. She is super sweet. To say the least this little gal is FULL of life! The video just captures her personality to a tee! I don't think all little babies get personalized entertainment in their bouncers like Weston enjoyed this evening. Enjoy and Happy Monday!

The boys are now officially 5 months old! Where has the time gone? They are getting to be more fun by the day. They continue to laugh and talk more each day. They love to play games like peek-a-boo and just love it when you are right in their face talking to them. They both enjoy their tummy time and love to move all of their limbs, they will be mobile in no time! Being home and in their routine is what they love the most. Luckily they are twins and it is hard to take them out, so they get their way most of the time. In the past month they have been to three states and out of town every weekend until now. I will post our adventures in another post. I took our old digital camera on most of them and that is currently with Billy in Philadelphia. They have gone swimming not only in our hot tub, but also in an actual pool in Park City. Oddly Carson most recently seems to show some signs of swimming, while Weston prefers to be held up and to just do his "kick kick." They both have rolled over, but don't do it all that often and never when they sleep. Although Weston sometimes angles his body just prefect so he can kick Carson in the side. Nice little brother eh? This month they have become more particular and will only eat when they are good and ready, i.e. not together and not on any sort of schedule like before. Their best time is in the morning. They both normally wake up with a smile on their face. A couple of weeks ago they got a jumperoo. We were all excited, thinking this would be the best present ever for little Weston who loves to kick kick. We get it all set up (with the help of Uncle Andy and Cousin Addie) and put Weston in it first (of course) and poor little guy just hangs there. He is tall enough, but lacks the weight needed to get his little feet on the ground. It was pretty sad. Luckily Daddy to the rescue and pretty soon Weston was happily jumping on some insulation we used to insulate our garage. Good thing Daddy is so creative :) But the jumping was then short lived. Both Carson & Weston mainly prefer to just sit in it and play with all of the toys that are attached. I am sure pretty soon they will be jump, jump, jumping away. They got weighed at their physical therapy appointment on Thursday and Carson is 15 lbs 8 oz, while Weston is 14 lbs. I can't believe how big they are getting! They are continuing to grow out of all of their summer clothes (winter get here quickly) and Weston is in 3-6 months and 6 month stuff, while Carson is more into 9 months stuff. So it makes dressing them in all of their cute twin outfits pretty difficult. It is also hard on their nanny who enjoys dressing them alike or coordinating as much as I do.

A week ago we were lucky to be able to spend a very short but busy visit with Billy's brother, sister-in-law and our two nieces Ava and Addie and their brother Cole. Cole is three weeks older than the twins and used to be MUCH larger, but now that they boys are getting older the gap is closing a little. I am sure when they are older they will be very close. If Cole wasn't so blond and the twins so dark they might think they were triplets! But they do have some similar features. It will be interesting to see them when they are older. Unfortunately I didn't get to visit much with my original baby Ava, who is now 6 (makes me feel old) as she went up to McCall early with Grandma and Grandpa. But I did get to spend some quality time with my little Addie. She will be 3 in September but is seriously larger than life this little one! In another post I have to add the video I have of her singing a song. Seriously a character! She loved the boys so much and just always wanted to be kissing on them and playing with them. She was, though, very loyal to her little brother and when we put Weston in the jumperoo for the first time, she said to me "I think it's my brother's turn." Too cute.

Currently as I mentioned above Billy is in Philadelphia for a work training. So before I went crazy, I had my mom come over for the long weekend to help me with the boys. It was pretty hard to twist her arm :) Yesterday we took the boys shopping at Carter's and the mall and scored some great deals on some winter clothes for them! Looking forward to being able to dress them in all of their new stuff! And today I had a Moms of Multiples picnic to attend. It was a ton of fun getting to meet all of the little ones (normally the events are just the moms) and to catch up with some of my twin mama friends. It was a crazy picnic, but super fun. The boys got to sport their camo hoodies for the first time since it was windy. Weston didn't want to take his off, but the car was a little hot on the way home. That boy loves to be swaddled, or just have something around his face. Silly little guy.
