Best Buddies (or should I say Bubbies)

I have been trying to get some great fall photos of the boys with my fancy lens and unfortunately this was the best that I could do.  It was starting to get dark so that made it a little hard.  They are in front of a tree in our neighbors yard, hope they didn't mind.  All of the red and orange leaves on our tree have fallen off already.  It takes two of us to get these pictures, Billy holds the boys in place while they hug (or they would fall over and then start wrestling) and I take the picture.  His new thing is to ask the boys what is on my head (usually my sunglasses).

Halloween Party Day

Today was the day of Halloween parties. We kicked the festivities off with the BMOM party where the boys played a bean bag toss game and got a Lightening McQueen Kleenex package as a prize. Carson originally picked out a purple headband, but then quickly traded that for his favorite movie item. We then headed to Boo at the Zoo where the boys hugged all the animals, some twice. And just to clarify it was people dressed as animals, they don't let you hug the real animals. After a quick nap we were at it again with a stop a my friend Lexie's house where her daughter Scarlet loved Carson and the boys let her play with their cars. All in all a great day.

July Family Photos - by Tamara Kenyon

We had these pictures taken in July and I posted them on facebook, but I forgot to post them here.  So most of you have probably already seen them.  This was by far the boys' best photo session.  They were in great moods and did pretty great smiling on cue.

Late Summer 2012

Pictures after Stroller Strides, they loved the tractor!  It is hard to tell, but they are wearing their Vandal shirts.
This guy basically ate his body weight in steak that night.
Drawing pictures for a very late birthday card for Great Grandpa Vince

Mr. Hollywood on his bike, notice the dog sun glasses
Good thing I have a good camera, this guy didn't stop to let me take his picture he was zooming past me

Boys posing pretty good sitting on a rock
Rides with Daddy at Blake and Brody's house.  The event was called Dirt Days, but it should have been called 4-Wheel Ridding Days

Yep, that is how this guy rolls (W)
Mr. Hollywood wearing Mommy's shoes.  He normally says "Carson work" when he wear them.  I don't know where he thinks I work.....

The boys have been busy the last couple of months.  They continue to love their Strider bikes and just got helmets for them.  They now can ride faster than I walk and I usually have to go at a pretty good power walk to keep up with them.  The boys are also talking more each day.  They are both now talking in full sentences, although they may not be grammatically correct.  Carson usually says things backwards like "car big."  We basically take that to mean he should have been born speaking Spanish or french since the noun comes before the adjective in those languages.  Carson also has no lack of toddler self confidence and when asked a question (even if we weren't talking to him), he proudly proclaims the answer and then does this little clicking sound with his tongue.  We have no idea where he got that.  Weston continues to be our "Golden Retriever" child and is the master at climbing up on your lap without you even knowing it.  You just look down and all of a sudden he is there.  Ones of his favorite sentence is "hold you," which means that he wants us to hold him.  Weston is also very smart and just yesterday when Carson tried to turn the baby monitor on by pressing really hard on the screen, I told Weston to help him, so he went over there and very gently pushed the on button.  Right now them are mesmerized by the first Cars movie.  When they ride their bikes they say "fast like Lightening McQueen!"  They are getting more fun each day!

Fancy Lens - Molly & Gracie at Kathryn Albertson Park

I met my friend Tiffany at Kathryn Albertson park to let the kids ride their bikes.  I brought along my camera and took these awesome pictures of her girls Molly and Gracie.  I always have the best luck photographing 1) not my own children and 2) girls.  I especially loved taking pictures of Molly because she actually did what I said.  She crossed her arms, smiled with her teeth, she was awesome.  Normally with the boys I just say "hold still and smile."  Forget about posing.

New and Exciting Times

The boys have had several milestones over the last couple of months.  This also happened to be a period in which I did not update the blog regularly.  Hmmm, weird.  First of all the boys started potty training the last week in June.  It has been a challenging and busy time, but we are finally seeing results and are looking forward to the time when we will be accident free (I know it will be a while).  Right after they started wearing either Thomas the Train or Cars underwear, they started climbing out of their cribs.  The first day they did it was at nap time when their nanny was home.  She was down in the basement doing laundry when she heard lots of laughing and stomping upstairs.  Needless to say she then put a child lock on the inside of their door and they at least couldn't escape.  We then had to toddler proof their room and remove the sides from their cribs.  In the beginning they would sleep on the floor sometimes, but now they are 100% in their beds (for the most part).  Weston has been falling out of bed in the middle of the night (I hear it on the baby monitor) but instead of sleeping on the floor will get back in his bed.  Sometimes at nap times they do run around like little wild people, but then usually settle down eventually.

The 4th of July was kind of strange this year as it was on a Wednesday and Billy and I had to work on Tuesday and Thursday.  We actually were in Boise this year (we have only been in town one other year since we moved here), which was fun.  We went to the downtown Boise parade with the boys.  It was a little scary as they were newly potty trained, but they did awesome.  They loved all of the floats and candy, and I thought they were going to faint when they saw the fire engine.  They called it a "woo woo" as that the sound their toy makes.  We then lit off fireworks after dinner and the boys loved it!  We wrangled them back into their red, white and blue outfits and took some pictures of them in the back yard (see above).  After we put the boys to bed Billy and I sat out on the deck with some wine and watch some fireworks.  The big ones that they lit off in downtown started pretty late and we were getting tired.  So we only saw the beginning, after all we had to work the next day.  As our boys get bigger it just gets more fun to celebrate holidays with them.
